Originally from the Czech Republic, Irena lived most of her adulthood in the US, working in the graphic design industry as a project manager. For the last 15 years, she and her family have lived in Athens. She is deeply connected with the community through volunteering with local non-profits, such as Campus Cats - actively fundraising and connecting kitties and humans as needed, and Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful - picking up litter, recycling Christmas trees, fundraising, composting, and serving on their board. Aside from volunteering, she also likes hiking, reading, crafting, and cooking.
